Dont be silly, If you are a girl burst into tears and see what happens, if a chap stiff upper lip, borrow a Cartridge from Daddys Gamekeeper, follow the instructions in my email and when the bugger takes the lid off he can spend the next few days having buckshot removed from his face, what spiffing wheeze that eh what.
If you are a Colonial Student why not borrow some deadly poison from your witch doctor and mix it with the butter, It has to be an upper class person stealing the butter as it is too rich for working and lower middle class palates as we underlings prefer dripping or Clover.

You're a poor student, yet you've got M&S butter? No wonder the others steal from you. They must think you're worth a fortune. In my day we had to eat our caviarre on dry toast.

Why would you want to tell your mum? She can't do much about it. You need to have a word with the person taking it and putting a stop to this yourself.

We dosed banana flavoured yoghurt with a lot of banana flavoured laxative (for children) obtainable from the local pharmacy. Then waited to see who got the $hits.

I would be more inclined to take a packet of lard and put it in a M&S butter wrapper and leave it in your fridge and teach them that theft is wrong :P
