Those diseases which has no cure and treatment and is not at all understood. Like genetic-related diseases, such as chromosomal anomalies which prevents life from being viable or cancers which are terminal and has no way of stopping from metastasizing. Mental illnesses such as Schizophrenia which is still misunderstood by scientists is also a worst form of disease.
Basically diseases which are life-threatening and will not only cause the physical deterioration but the person as a whole, preventing him from living the life that he deserves. That's the worst for me.
Alzheimer's is also an example of a disease that will not only cause physical deterioration, but also the personality and the whole person is destroyed. A very lonely way of dying...as others percieve the said disease.

I'd go with the people who said ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease. My grandfather died from this. At first you just feel like you are weak and tired. Then, you feel like you have hot pins and needles stabbing you all over the place all the time as you are being completely paralyzed. This is horrible enough in itself but if you live long enough to go completely paralyzed, you have to depend on someone to take care of you until you die. Most people with this disease don't live more than 5 years and it is extremely painful.

CJD, aka, Mad Cow disease.
It simply starts by one slowly losing his or her memory, then a little saliva from the mouth, then losing so much memory and brain functions that the individual is incapacitated. They must be taken care of like an invalid until they degenerate to a degree that they are bedridden, and then pass away. It's 100 percent fatal. You can get it from partaking in the good 'ol American food supply system, your local supermarket.
Most of the wild deer, elk, and various mammals are infected in the west,and Midwest. Don't eat the wildlife.

I personally think the worst is loosing your sight as you are suddenly plunged into darkness and have to depend on alot of people for the rest of your life.You also miss out on seeing the beauty around you.
This type of blindness is far different from being born blind because when you are born blind you have never seen anything therefor there is no loss.

the one that rots away at your skin and just eats you alive, i think thats a bacteria not sure if disease though. Any rapid cancer would be horrible i imagine, obviously those that effect heart and brain and lungs are the three worse ones.

From what i've heard, the Ebola Virus.
It causes your body to go completely haywire. You hemmorhage from every opening of your body, and can die within two to three days.
So far it hasn't been in the USA. It seems to be confined to Africa.

Lou Gherigs's disease is the worst I have ever heard of and experienced. I saw a friend die of it and it was the most terrifying experience!
