No it should already be on your computer if you are running a copy of window`s it comes as standard !
if you are using dell or whatever then just download window`s media player from the microsoft web site !

No. Its a free download from microsoft. If your running windows xp or some variation of that, its already included. There may be some features that windows gets you too (such as downloading of music) that you would have to pay for, the the actual progrram is free.
