well, there are several ways to solve your problem. 1st I would make sure you have your tree secure, I would say tie it with fishing wire to the celling or wall, that way if you kitty does climb it, it wont fall over (or at least not come crashing all the way to the ground.) Next, be selective in the ornament that you put on your tree, anything near and dear to you I would probably not put on there, and if they break put them towards the top. I would also suggest that you not put decorations on the bottom 6" of your tree to avoid the kitten thinking that they are play things. Next use canned air or a water bottle to scare the kitten way from the tree. Keep a lot of acceptable toys around so that you can then show the kitten what is OK to play with. There are also kitten repellents at the local pet store you could try (Ive never used these, but if all else fails then give it a try.), they are supposed to be scented so that the kitten stays out or away from something. Finally remember that this is just a kitten and she doesn't know what shes doing wrong, so be loving, i know that its very easy to be frustrated in this situation, but do your best.

I read through the answers you had and I love the air can idea! My cat is afraid of it as well. When ever she See's that air can she runs and hides. The same go's for air freshener spray can but I like the air can no smell. My cat is almost 4 years old and very large. so she just sits and looks at the blinking lights on the tree. once in a while she'll swat at a bulb and if she knocks one off she plays with it.but she is far to large to climb it now 14 lbs!

She's not being bad, she's being a cat. Her little kitty brain can't understand the difference between this tree and all the other trees in the world. Put the Christmas tree in a room you can shut kitty out of.

I am having the SAME trouble right now! I might try to put a baby gate around the tree. Or I might use the water bottle. Even though you don't have your ornaments up he will still love to paw at it!

We had the same problem last year. What worked is a small squirt gun with water. It's not harmful to you kitten or anything else but 1 or 2 squirts will solve your problem.

I've used a spray bottle. I was at my vet recently and they use canned air (the kind used to clean computers). they said the noise from can startles the cats so they learn not to do the bad stuff. they say it works great.

Easiest solution here is to NOT PUT IT UP UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

12 days before, 12 after!

Like Not MONTHS........DAYS!

And what are you doing with 'ORDNANCE' in your HOME?
