I separated the two sentences, "I'm so glad to be your friend" and "thanks for adding me" because I think it sounds much better, in my opinion. I'm not sure who you are talking to, so the above is the formal way. If you want to say it more friendly, where he/she is someone your age, then say:
こんにちは！友達になれて嬉しい！足してくれてありがとう。
アニメは好き？
（Konnnichiwa! Tomodachi ni narete ureshii! Tashitekurete arigatou. Anime wa suki?)
I don't think that there is any good Japanese-English translator online, because people have e-mailed to me using the translator, and the translator is very bad. Since I'm Japanese, I don't think I'll ever use it, but if you do, the best bet is to put it in word by word. If you know Japanese grammar, then it might help. Otherwise, I think it would be much better to ask someone to translate it for you.
