This is really a question for a doctor, and there are medications for that. How long the pain has been bothering her might be an indicator, but then I get pains that last a week or so and then go away. I had pains in my knees a couple of years ago that made it almost impossible to bend down as in a knee bend; I told the dr about it and he just said it was probably a virus infection and didn't seem concerned enough to do anything about it and after another 6 months or so it gradually went away, more or less. I just had what i thought might be an ear infection because it made my jaw feel stiff and in the moring I could not close it and it hurt like crazy until I got it working in an hour or so. Now it is gone completely. So aches and pains can be elusive and disappear on their own. If this is something that she has had for a long time she should at least ask a dr about it. Would be better to get an idea sooner rather than later. Eventually, everything hurts, and death is inevitable.

I'm NOT DIAGNOSING, I'm throwing out possibilities that only a DOCTOR can pin down: Does she have blue veins that are very visable in her legs (varicose veins)? Has she been checked thoroughly for artery function? Has she had a doppler test? These tests are painless unless there is a blockage--at which point the patient should be thankful because it may have saved a blood clot or stroke. Does she have tingling or numbness when she stands, sits, or walks? I'm only telling you this as information--not to frighten you. This CAN BE signs of Peripheral Neuropathy, a disease in which the nerve endings of the affected area slowly die. Have her see a Neurologist / Pain Management specialist for the best advice regarding treatment.

This could be a sign of pad and alot of other medical problems im unsure if your mom has other health issues . It could also be a blood clot and that would need emidiate medical attention. I dont know if she is diabetic but some people with diabetes get a condition that causes alot of discomfort in the legs called neuropathy. Bottom line I would make sure she went to see a medical professional you can email me if you want. I am an RN

Maybe. She should go to a doctor bc if it is PAD it could be serious bc it deals with the blood flow from the brain and heart. Check out this website, might help.
