if you eat a lot of rice, and those carbs are not being burned, then yes, i would cut down on rice. If you eat a little bit with your meal, you are probably fine. I think most empty carbs come from refined sugars, pastas, juice drinks, and breads...if you cut down on these, then you could lose weight..but you have to excercise, eat more veggies, and eat the right foods...good luck.

Hello buddy. If you cut down on rice you will definitely lose weight. In other words you are controlling your portion of dieting. However, don't think because you have cut down on rice, you can eat more of something else like all those junks and fatty food.

I have got to say that, according to the Food Pyramid, you need 6 to 11 servings of carbohydrates, which is present in rice, and also bread. So you can cut down but don't stop eating it.

Well, depends! If you're eating white rice...you probably will lose the weight.
However, if you're eating brown rice with a high fiber content, you should be losing the weight as increased fiber helps with weight loss.
So, if it's brown rice, keep eating it, & if it's white rice, stop eating it!

carbs are in rice, carbs turn into sugar, sugar turns into fat.

if you cut down into using porportion control you will loose weight, but use a whole grain rice instead of white rice.

carbs give you energy but if you're eatting a lot of them and not an athlete exercising all the time you'll just gain weight instead of burning it off.
