really trying to cover up their own uncertainty.
do they have the warped belief that, the more people there are that believe what they [ache to] believe, the more likely it is that their beliefs have some validity?
doesnt this attitude become dangerous when religion is allowed to interfere with and infect both law and politics?

i say ACHED because almost all believers [except eastern countries where religious brainwashing is intrinsically part of the system], know that their beliefs arent literally true.

Yes, it can be dangerous, I agree! Whatever religion it is. I think we all like people better who share similar or even the same beliefs as us, and there lies the Gefahr! A very insecure and low Ego will latch on to those who are the same and wont question any of their extreme and unhealthy views. If they did get questioned, they'd crumble. Religion, in my opinion, should never be allowed to interfere with the law and politics, but unfortunately it does happen. If only people could stay real and avoid extremes. Everything in moderation, please! That goes for religion, too! If people want religion to be part of their life, thats fab. But when it becomes an obsession, its really unhealthy.

Friend, I am from The USA, You ask are we trying to cover up our beliefs, Friend, I don't have anything that needs covering up, I live & stand & believe in the Apostles of Old Teachings, & I know there I only a few that will see it, as it is laid out in it's true revelations. I have nothing to hide, in fact, many times I am the only Bible some will ever read, That is why when I leave a place, They tell me that I have conducted myself in a Christ like manner, I just retired, & there was many that thank me for living that true Life of a Christian Instead of trying to jam it down someone's throat, I have always said, If I can not live it, then I can not talk it.

Christians don't seek perfection in themselves. They pick the areas of the bible that don't affect themselves and demand others follow it.

Just read Leviticus. They LOVE to cite that when talking about homosexuality, but completely ignore the other 600+ laws that they should be following. Either Leviticus is valid or it isn't.

People can believe the moon is made of green cheese if they desire, I don't care. When they get into politics and education with those beliefs, I do care.

Man is a creature that lives in uncertainty, Some expose this insecurity to the truth of knowledge while others cover it over with lies. Whether it becomes dangerous in law and politics, well look at the mess we are in right now, look at religious histories.

Your additional little comment was not apreciated. I would like to let you know that I am a caucasion, born right here in the oh what do you call it land of the free, ha ha I mean america. Oceanside,CA on a military base actually. And I will have you know that I became a Muslim by choice, no brainwashing here. My Creator planned this for me from day one, ALHUMDULILAH. And He knows my dad is a bigot. HHmmm.. Also you should get your facts straight only 19% of the 1.5 billion muslims are Arab. Oh thats right you probly just make things up in your head, or get it off of TBN or the mainstream media.

I try to spread my beliefs because I believe that they are true and necessary for a person to have eternal life and be saved from eternal death. I am not trying to cover up my uncertainties. My belief is that the more people who believe the truth the more there are who will be saved from eternal destruction. We do it because Jesus told us to. My security is oin the message of Jesus Christ, not in having a majority rule.

you are correct. and a lot smarter than me, i must admit. an example of what you're saying is the gay bashers that are on this site right now. they know there is nothing wrong with being gay, everyone knows that instinctively, but they've been told different by their religion their whole lives so now they are trying with all their might to preach it without feeling like complete idiots. they know deep down that they are allowing their religion to make fools out of them.

If we weren't Christians, do think we would really care about the eternal destiny of fellow human beings. Not in a million years. No one would.

If my faith depended on whether or not I could "get people to believe" it would have faded away long ago.

No. When I attempt to "evangelize", it isn't to legitimize my beliefs. I'm already certain. What I'm trying to do is spread the peace that I have to other people.
Read my blog entry, on my 360 page. I go more in depth there.

When Jesus was on earth, he was not only doing miracles but he was teaching, spreading the good news about God's kingdom. He left the command to us: Go and make disciples...

As the image of the invisible God and our perfect example, we follow Christ in his way of spreading the good news so that people may know the truth about God and about Jesus, that they may not die but instead live.
