My cousin just gave birth to a set of twins yesterday...a boy and a girl. They are both so cute. She already has the first names for her children. Somehow, she wanted the middle name to be the same cuz they are twins.

Any suggestion? I was thinking of Madison.

I don't have any names to offer but would strongly suggest that your cousin read "Having Twins" by Elizabeth Noble, "Double Duty" by Tinglof, or "The Art of Parenting Twins". All three (and countless other articles I've read) strongly caution against giving matching or rhyming names to twins. It's really important that twins develop their own sense of identity. Plus, any twins I've met with similiar/rhyming/matching names HATE them when they are teenagers. What's really cute when they're babies will be considered weird when they're older. There are better/less traumatizing/less permanent ways to celebrate the special bond that twins have.

Just a few thoughts from a mom of identical twins.

Madison sounds more like a girls name I think, but it'd be cool both ways.

My sister's name is Taylor - that would work. Her and her father also have the same middle name, almost. Her middle name is "Jae" and her father's middle name is "Jay." That would be a clever way to give both babies the same sounding middle name, but different enough so they both had their own individual spelling for their middle names!

I'd google the question as I've also searched for unisex names by google and I found the websites that came up in the search to be very helpful.

IT DEPENDS ON THE FIRST NAME IN MY BOOKS HOW THE MIDDLE NAME SOUNDS WITH IT.

NOEL IS PRONOUNCE TWO WAYS. ONE WAY FOR A BOY AND ANOTHER FOR A GIRL.

DAKOTA IS VERY POPULAR RIGHT NOW FOR BOTH GENDERS.

MAYBE THEY COULD DO SAMUEL AND SAMANTHA, THEREFORE BOTH MIDDLE NAMES ARE SAM. SAME FOR ALEXANDER AND ALEXANDRA=ALEX.

ANGEL IS ALSO A GOOD SPANISH MAN'S NAME AS WELL AS FEMALE IN AMERICA.
