Never been there and don't think I really want to. He may be a good chef but it is a bit of a ripoff.

Good restaurant, good service, very interesting food i have to admit. but having said that.. over the years its quality has been decreasing a lot, maybe cuz now he's focussing more on publicity (tv shows, books, etc?) not sure.
It used 2 b a very good restaurant, but now i prefer to go to est., or tetsuya's. even now rockpool has dropped into number 20++ on 50 best restaurant in the world where it was ranked number 3 just 2 years ago...
but yeah if u havent try it..u can give it a go..

i have eaten at Rockpool twice I must say I was more impressed with my first visit than my second. The restaurant design has won just about as many awards as the chefs -- it's a modern interior fit within the shell of an 1860's building.

I have never been to Australia but the name "Rockpool" sounds quite tasty.

Not having been to the restaurant, and having seen him on cable - the plate is too big! the portion too small! what you get to eat may well be fresh and local, and hey, he lost a chef hat in ratings. I'm all for Aus - RIPOFF!

The food was great, however I left still feeling hungry... It was very much overpriced, so make sure you save before hand and order something more filling. You also need to book months in advance.
