you could if you want to, but you want to be careful. here are some of the safety guidelines you must observe:
1. tell your friend/parents you're going out. specify where and what time you will be back
2. suggest lunch instead of dinner. that way, you can make it look like a casual outing. also, you may opt for 'out' if you do not like his company that much
3. watch out for your drinks. you don't want to trust that someone too much
4. meet at a shopping complex - where there are a lot of people
5. go to the meeting place by yourself. do not accept ride home.

To be on the safe side, have your friend call you during the 'date' and despatch one to get you after an hour or so. Please be careful! He has to 'seem' like a nice guy, otherwise, you would not want to go out with him, right?

his probably thinking the exact same thing about you as we speak, actually look it up in this forum and see if someone else is asking a similar question. lol
actually in realistic terms if you meet over the net, there isn't the crap about looks etc, but it's you guys get along and can communicate, and enjoy each other, so if you think his gonna be creapy or freaky, it may very well be what your looking for. hahaha

just kidding have a crack, if you can talk heart to heart on the net, anything is possible, as you trust each other already.

I've had some dates from online dating sites and they were all fine but I made sure that I went to the bigger, paid-subscription sites, and that I'd seen photos of the guys, and was really confident that they were who they said they were. If you're concerned that he might be a freak, perhaps you should give this one a miss. Have you seen a photo? Have you had many decent conversations?

No guarantee ! He can be good, can be freak, cant judge from internet. You have to try your luck. No harm in meeting but depends. Do one thing just have a chat with him on phone before meeting. So that you can be more satisfied and safe then directly meeting without knowing him.

ok if he lives close i have a possible solution. But it requires a close friend that is preferably off the market. Agree to meet him at a crowed place (a club is perfect). But don't show. instead send a trusting friend in instead of you. Haver her talk to him and try to get a feel for him. it might work but i make no promises.

If you do meet in a public place with lots of people, maybe have a friend follow you. Tell people where you're going and what time you'll be back. Bring a gun or maybe pepper spray

Yes, you have that in consideration too. But if you want to meet him, go in a public place, in place that people know you...and ask someone that if something goes wrong to help you. Well, after all he could be your prince charming, but still no harm if you are surrounded by people who know you.

good luck.

if going to meet, make sure its in a public place and organize a time a girlfriend to ring you, if the date isnt going well you can say sorry i have to leave emergency and go. its also good to let a few friends know where you are going and what your doing as you dont know this guy well.
