For 4 years now my husband has been fighting 2 different cancers. I have been his main caregiver. Which at times isn't easy. I had in the past contacted several insurace companies trying to get home insurance coverage, no success. Last spring a bad thunderstorm came through. I didn't think our roof was damaged. I was wrong. When it rains, it comes through the roof and between the wall of my daughter's room and bathroom. We have about a1/2 inch of water standing in the bathroom when it rains. I had to take my daughter and her baby out of her room because I'm afraid the ceiling will cave in on them, it drips so bad in there. Are there any agencies I can appeal to for help. We own this home and because of all our other cost we can't afford to move or get repairs done out of pocket.

if you can't get help from your church, maybe a few of your friends could get together and put a fund raiser on for you. They could get donations from local stores, and raffle off what is donated, also have a pot luck dinner, sell tickets to the dinner and raffle. or maybe you can find someone in town that will donate supplies to fix the roof. and have a fix it party. I hope this helps somewhat---good luck

You could check with your local social services office, community action agencies, Housing and Urban Development, as well as local economic development agencies. Several of those agencies can aid you with getting a home improvement loan that is subsidized which would mean very low cost for you.

Here is a thought; make your daughter get out and get a job to help support the family. you should be able to afford a roof in a matter ofa few months then. with some income coming in, you may even be eligable for a loan
