You could have bursitis. I suggest you see an orthopedist who can give you a better diagnosis. This is extremely painful, but it CAN be helped.

I would suggest you keep that shoulder moving to its extreme.. such an injury will attract a crystalline substance into the joint and become a precursor to an arthritic joint. Perhaps you have had the ligament which goes over the ball of the humerus (fits into a groove) come out of that groove. It is a very simple procedure to reduce that problem. The inflammatory process can involve the entire shoulder girdle and give you considerable restriction of motion.
I would suggest you seek the services of a doctor of Chiropractic. He/she will be able to reduce that ligament and also help loosen up the shoulder girdle.. There will be pain if there is much accumulation of the crystalline substance in the joint but will only last for a short period.. the arm motion will be nearly normal by the next day. I have seen this occur after suffering for 20 years, by one patient.

The shoulder is a very complicated joint. It could be bursitis, a bruised or torn rotator cuff, tendon or ligiment strain or even rupture. Does it pop and grind? If so, it could be worse. See a highly qualifed orthepedist, preferably one that does not have the reputation for cutting right away.

Do yoga! I had pain in my neck and shoulder region, sometimes spasms, and numb little and ring fingers. I started doing yoga and it's almost disappeared. On www.yogatoday.com you can get a new hour-long yoga class downloaded on your computer every day, and the teachers are wonderful!!! Apart from better health you'll get a better attitude to life and learn to relax more.
