Hello There my Birman is pregnant at the moment and she in in 69th day so the old saying on yahoo a cat Carry's for up to 65 days is cobblers!
The first sign for you to notice is called pinking up (nipples start to protrude) this happens at about 3 weeks, so the vet may notice as early as 2 weeks.
If a cat is carrying a small litter thy can carry for as long as 70 days after this you should go to the vet. If they are carrying a larger litter then they carry for a shorter term. the average pregnancy is 9 weeks and 2 days.
If your cat is pregnant its happened since you have had her so think back to when she left your home for at least a day! and count from then, you will be able to get an approximate date for the birth.
I do hope this helps, feel free to contact me personally if you need any further help.

Cats nipples begin to pink at around 21 days into the pregnancy and kittens can usually not be felt until 26-35 days along. If your cat is between 26 and 35 days along you can expect to have kittens in 30-40 days. A cat's average gestation is 65 days but they can give birth as early as 59 days and sometimes up to 69 days. Kittens born before 59 days and after 69 days are usually not viable. The week you think your cat us due you should start taking her temperature rectally. About 24 hours before your cat is due to queen her temp will drop from a normal of between 100.5-102.0 to below 99. This is a sure sign that your cat will begin labor within 24 hours.

well a cat is pregnant 58 to 65 days so thats approx 8 to 9 weeks unless the cat is looking very fat now it might not even be pregnant .
if its fat it could be any week now signs a cat is going into labour can be a discharge and i always found the nipple swell up with milk within a few days of iminent birth .

To the above poster littleboo....

The 65 days gestation period is not a yahoo myth http://www.google.ro/search?q=cat+pregnancy&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a . If your cat really is in the 69th day (72nd day now?) of gestation take her to the vet as soon as possible.

Try to hear it's chest. It's the fastest way to detect pregnancy in a cat and when it's nipples get larger.
