I truly think that if it doesn't reside in 24 hours please see a Doctor or go t o the emergency room if it gets worse. There are to many symptoms today that relate to heart problems,( which is not related to heart burn) that go on in a persons body (ESPECIALLY WOMEN) that are undetected. Heart burn is produced by quit a few things but the bile in the stomach that is produced to help in digestion backs up like a toilet( REFLUX)
Gastric (stomach) there are so many things that can make this occur, foods, mental stress, exercise, over eating the list goes on and depending on your age. If the over the counter medication does not do anything and this is not something that you have experienced before just have it check out because SH-T happens now a days that still as an old person I can't believe
FEEL BETTER GOOD LUCK

Simple solution, stop taking antacids. Drink nothing but water all day. This should get rid of all the antacids you have been eating. The antacids have to stop working before you can do the next part. Next, go get some Dark Apple Cider Vinegar. Take 2 tablespoons (in a glass so you can actually down it). This is going to burn like a shot of whiskey. But do not drink anything for a while after you take it. What this does is to increase the acid in your stomach. You are describing here what happens when someone overdoses on antacids. If you don't have enough acid in your stomach, you can't digest food properly and it creates gas, LOTS OF GAS. If you try increasing the acid in your stomach, you may never need to take an antacid again. Best of luck.

For a mid 20's female- I burp like crazy!
Huge, loud burps! (Sorry everyone...)
I've gone to see a gastrointerologist and after I had an endoscopy done... my conclusion was that i'm just a gassy person. :(
Mylanta (cherry creme) works wonders for me- but go get your heart burn problem checked out- that's acid in your esophogus. That's not good.

I'm not saying you have the same problem I do, but I had those same symptoms. Found out I had a hiatal hernia and acid reflux. Go to the doctor and get it checked out. I may be nothing, or it could be serious. Don't wait to find out. Go to the doctor Monday and find out.

That sounds to me like it could be something more serious. You need to go see a doctor Monday.
