Just stop, please, stop for a second and ask yourself, do you really want to base your spiritual beliefs on A HOLLYWOOD MOVIE??
No, Selma Hyake's character was flat dead wrong. Just about everything in that movie Dogma was wrong. By the way, I have seen that movie several times and she didn't say what matters is that you have faith in Jesus, what she said was what matters is that you have faith. It's that Unitarian, pantheistic, "we're all OK cause we all worship the same god" nonsense.
Please, read the Bible, and base your beliefs on that. Read Lee Strobel's book, the case for Christ, he PROVES the validity of the Bible in it.
For the record, what matters is that you have faith in Jesus Christ, Savior and Lord as described in the Holy Bible, not some Jesus you make up that lets you smoke dope and have threesomes.

yes she spoke the truth, and she was speaking about 'faith' as an idea beyond beliefs, a feeling that you know God
She is talking about the knowledge that faith brings overcomes differences in belief and provides a solid foundation for diversity to co-exist. God is brought down out the sky into the heart. Even if people's beliefs totally contradict, there is room for that, if God wants to be mysterious who are we to think he should be logical, that means denying much of the transcendance of God and putting God back in the sky again. It's like all religious war is a battle between where you think God is, who possesses him and who knows him

Yeah she was right. If people would just understand that idea we could improve this world so much. I can't believe the chick above me who said that idea was flat wrong and to just interpet the Bible literally. I interpet what Jesus said and live by that, but the rest of the Bible was just written by a bunch of men. The same way that Dogma was written by a man. So you can really put the same weight on them, huh? It's just all ideas, what really matters is that you figure out what makes the most sense to you.
