This is NOT preaching or evangelism. I am pasting this because I ran across it in my studies and found it absolutely fascinating.

-----------------
"Even I, who am unborn, imperishable, the Lord of all beings, controlling my own nature, take birth with the quality of human nature.

Whenever there is a decline of righteousness and spread of unrighteousness, I create myself.

I take birth in every era, to encourage good, to destroy evil, and to re-establish righteousness.

He who understands my divine birth and actions, and deny their selves, are able to reach me, and need not be born into the world again.

Those who are free from passion, fear and anger, and devote their lives to me and become full of me, purified by my spiritual wisdom, have attained my condition and become part of me again."

This is from the Hindu "Bible". How does the remarkable similarity between this passage and our understanding of Jesus's conception make you feel?

"Though it is not exactly clear when the Bhagavad Gita was composed, the majority of historians assume a date between 500 and 50 BCE."

This predates Jesus, therefore does not refer specifically to Him.

i'm additionally an atheist, and EMT makes a super factor. i do no longer supply thumbs right down to extreme and smart solutions from Christians. If an answer is condescending or immature, i'm going to offer it a thumbs down--and that is going for the two Christians and atheists. the two factors are in command of being petty.

Excellent heresies always skirt very very close to the truth... be careful, freind... there is much to be admired in Hinduism and Buddhism... but remeber, Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life... we are given NO other name by which we may be saved.

similar, but the narrator speaks as if he himself has human tendencies in a nature to that of sin, that is not god. to me, and knowing hindu belief, seems like the scriptural implications are for that of the existence of reincarnation rather than a spiritual birth.
