The XM107 is the M82. Just a different name. The designation change was to simplify some paperwork. Because the XM107 was supposed to be a bolt-action. The military changed their minds, and didn't want the bolt action. So they changed the name of the M82 to XM107 so they could continue buying the M82 under their existing contract with Barrett.

Another difference between the M82 and the (X)M107 is that originally, the M82 was designed as a single shot, bolt action. Over the years, after enough modifications, Barret finally did a complete re-design of the weapon, using new manufacturing techniques, new materials, added a ten round magazine, as well as different options and features. Please note that there are several manufacturers of these weapons, and since they were first introduced in the 80's Barret has handled the majority of the engineering, while other companies handle some of the manufacturing and assembly.
