In pot limit, it is exactly as it says. The limit in each round of betting is what is already in the pot. So say in a game the blinds are 25/50, if you are first to act, there would already be 75 in the pot. Your call would be 50, and you could raise the pot by 175 (being the total of your 50 bet, the big blind of 50 and the small blind of 25). Now assume that after the flop, there is 500 chips in the pot, the first person to act after the first round is over would be able to bet a maximum of 500 chips. The next person would be able to call that 500, and raise by 1500, as that would again be the total of your call, their bet, and the pot total.

You are probably familiar with no limit. Any player can bet up to the amount of their stack at (almost) any time.
Pot limit is very similar to no limit. There are still blinds and they work just the same as no limit. However, at any given time when you bet, you cannot bet more than is already in the pot for that hand.
So in a $5/$10 pot limit game, the small blind would put in $5, the big $10. If you are the next player to act the most you can raise is $15. If you do this (called betting the pot), the next player can raise up to $30, and so on.
The bigger the pot gets, the larger the maximum bet is.
The reason for this kind of betting structure is it takes away the ability to bully people out of the pot as easily as you can with no limit. This therefore makes pot limit a particularly difficult game to master, some say it takes more skill than no limit.

you can work this out with your Friend's who you are playing with usually start with 3500 chips in denominations of white 25 red 50 blue 100 green 500 this normally makes it easier to start .too start with you could have a pot limit as 200 this means nobody can bet more than 200 chips per bet in each round . but this usually does not work for long as the same game can last for hours and an experienced player will just make a 200 bet every time just to get rid of the weaker hands and usually win every game Texas hold em is designed to be an all in game after the big blind small blind is 25 big blind is 50

i think it just means you can bet any amount, up to and including the amount of the pot, at any given time. For example, if the blinds are 25/50 and you are the first person to act, you (obviously) have the option of folding, calling or raising. If you raise, you can make any bet not exceeding 75, since that's what's currently in the pot.
