What do you mean, "Is religion NOW an obstacle"??
It has been since the beginning of time!!

Yes....... but originally it was designed to bring communities and the world together. The INTENT was to lay down some laws that would provide for equality and that no person may oppress or exploit another.
Then, not long after by the way, it became a tool to do the exact opposite of what it was designed for. Now religion has become a bad word. You can thank the Romans and Paul for that.

Religion is not only the cause of many of the problems, it has been the cause for most of the wars in the worlds history!

IMO- religion was created to try to make people do good things and obey the laws- now I believe that people are finally figuring that out, but others are just extremist who are lost and confused.
Yes, it is an obstacle.

Religion is not the problem, its the individuals application of it that is. No religion preaches murder or violence. Between that and people not being willing to accept other religions and understanding them is the other problem. Sometimes people are too narrow minded.

Yes, I feel it is a major problem contributing to all problems of world. People belonging to different religions fight with people belonging to other religions.

depends on which religion you're looking at. in fact all religions teach GOOD. its the interpretation. its caused by the priests. they interpret it in such a way that they antagonize other religions and therefore fuel hatred etc. we must look for the most true religion.
