As a general rule, you should refrain from use of any recreational drug while pregnant.

However, there is no real evidence that marijuana use is harmful to fetuses. For example, see http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/hemp/medical/can-babies.htm

This is a study done in Jamaica, where the average daily use of marijuana has been estimated to be about 28 times as high as in the US.

The major government commission reports on marijuana have studied the subject over the years and come to the same conclusion: While marijuana use is not recommended during pregnancy, there is no particular evidence to indicate that it is a major hazard to babies. You can find the full text of these reports at http://druglibrary.org/schaffer under Major Studies of Drugs and Drug Policy.

You can smoke marijuana throughout the whole pregnancy if you truly wanted to. My close friend used to be a pothead and confronted her doctor about just this. This was not some crackhead doctor either, he was a very popular doctor at Kaiser Permanente. He told her that although he doesn't [[can't legally]] recommend it, whatever keeps the mother calm will also keep the baby calm, besides, what is marijuana but a plant?

Man-made drugs are a whole other story. These drugs cause brain damage, autism, ect. Honestly, how many times do you hear somebody has died because of a drunk-driver, or a cocaine overdose? Now how often do you hear about death caused by marijuana?

I hope this thoroughly answers your question. But truthfully, it is up to you. :-)

Pot and pregnancy don't mix. Marijuana crosses the placenta and can affect your baby. Marijuana use during pregnancy has been linked to low birth weight in the baby and withdrawal-like symptoms, including excessive crying and tremors. Some studies suggest that later in life these children are at increased risk for attention disorders and learning problems.

Stay away from marijuana. If you can't give up the habit by yourself, ask for assistance.

Smoking anything during pregnancy is wrong. If you want to smoke go for it, but youll end up paying for it with a baby with birth defect, sids or even death. The major point in all of this is what right do you have to smoke anything while pregnant. A mother has no right to smoke. How fair is that to a living being who cannot speak for themselves. Im sure that child in the future will be grateful when they have asthma or other defects.
