Good luck to you and I hope everything goes great. There is at the other end of the spectrum but I was once worried about having an ingrown toe nail romoved but it turned out to be nothing to worry about.

You'll be fine. :) It's normal to be scared before surgery, but surgery is the safest place in the hospital. Your anesthetist is a highly trained nurse or doctor who will be constantly monitoring you during your procedure. Your surgeon, a trained surgical technologist, and 1 or 2 other nurses will be with you every second that you're in surgery.
Before your surgery, let them know that you're worried. They'll probably give you an IV injection of Versed, a drug kinda like Valium that blocks your memory.
During your surgery, your anesthetist will put a breathing tube in your airway. It'll help you breathe, and it'll also protect your airway.
You'll be fine! Try not to worry...relax and distract yourself with other things tonight. Just don't drink alcohol, and don't have anything to eat or drink after midnight (or whatever time the doctor or hospital told you).

Oh boy, ya. I've had several surgeries. If it helps, man, now days, they have this thing down like clockwork. Doctors and nurses know their stuff. The risks are very minimal. Your going to make out okay, I can almost personally guarantee that!!! It's scary, that's for sure. But, when you wake up after it's done, and you KNOW it's done, it will be like the weight of the world leapt off of your shoulders! Good luck!!!!

Hi there !
Relax...
it is a natural human reaction..right ?
if you are too apprehensive about the whole thing, have a frank chat with your consultant surgeon ! Tell him how you feel about it and maybe a mild sedative / relaxant will help you to face the situation...more bravely..
also.. make a "positive approach to everything in life"..starting from the "smallest day today activities" to the "major things" like this.. It will give you added mental energy ...and naturally it will change the family environment also..right ..??
relax and best wishes..

i know its easier said than done, but try not to worry. you will be put under anesthesia and wont remember a thing. i had a large fibroid removed from my uterus earlier this year. these surgeries are so routine. it will be over in a couple of hours and youll be sleeping throughout the whole thing. worrying wont get you anywhere. youll be fine.

dont worry at all!
its normal to be scared before surgery, just remember that its a one in a million chance that something could go wrong. think about the bright side and actualy look forward to it. afterwards its like having a 100 pound weight taken of your chest!

A little birdie told me you are going to sail through this with "flying colors". It is NORMAL to feel a little bit nervous before surgery. Good luck, and email me afterwards to let me know that my "little birdie" was right!
