Yes I think so. I think the movie drew on Eastern religious ideas of Maya (Illusion) from Hinduism and Buddhism.

Yes, and the only difference is The Matrix is living in an electronically-based illusionary world while we are living in a materialism-based illusionary world.
The Matrix's illusionary world is generated by the computer while our world is generated by our materialistic nature.

The devil lies; God hides and reason has its limitations. What then is the illusion? We who are found of God live in the light of His presence and the world believes us insane.
Perhaps they believe so rightly; for we have in great degree left the world of rational wanderings. Here we neither accept the confines of human thought nor worship at the shrine of reason. Yet we know what others cannot know. We see what others cannot see and it does not yet appear what we shall be.
The Matrix is Satan's Eden; the Cross of Christ our freedom.

Yes. But we are more than living in it, we are forming it. Each one forms their own version of the world; everything physical is solidified thought. No two people see precisely the same thing. We make images, and call them a world.
The reality is that we are perfect, whole, and complete...we are free. We are one.
It's all about love.

We are in big dream that is broken only at death. All what we perceive, argue are just formed by controlling radiation over ratina, tangibility over skin and so on.
Jaganmitha = This world is an illusion.

Very similar. The Matrix was a very spiritual film, although many did not realize. (So would you take the red pill or the blue pill?)
