i just brought a home theater audio system and doesnt know how to make my TV play through it, what cable(s) do i need? do i even need a cable? i have a Sony brand HD TV and the audio system is by panasonic if that helps. thanks.

if you have a cable or satellite box use digital audio coaxial cable
(it looks like an rca cable but is sheilded for digital use)
or better fiber optic cable to go from source to receiver. If your audio is coming from your HDTV then you should have a monitor audio out on the back of you HDTV usually a fiber optic and a pair of RCA jacks. the idea is to keep everything separate in home audio and video that's why cables cost so much.
