You cant quit unless you want to,Period! Find a reason to want to quit! Look at pictures of smokers lungs on Yahoo/Images....Read about all the things smokers go through later in life! Just find a reason. $4 a pack? Save $12 a day for a week...$84....go blow it on something you want at the end of the week, that will make you realize how much you spend to kill yourself!

If you understand the danger then you should quit while you still can. The more time goes by, the more addicted it will become. Try reducing the amount of cigarettes a day, for starters, don't quit cold turkey, cause that will only get you smoking again. If possible ask for help with friends, family, and school.

I started to try it when i was 14, but i wasn't hooked with it, i only smoke occasionallyparties/clubbing, and only 1-2 sticks (as i was still kinda cautious and hates the smell of 2nd-hand smoke ), those were the moments til i was 25.
But when i entered this certain workplace (i was 26, and now I'm 27), it's like its not me anymore, no longer the lung-conscious. Due to a very strong & massive influences, and stress, it also made me dependent to it. But I know I could quit it once I get out of the office, as the culprits are all there. Ask yourself what made you puff everytime. Otherwise, if u really can't, they say that u should take candies or gummies instead, and try to research about the bad effects & how it destroys your lungs, maybe that's good enough to scare...quit it coz it deducts your longevity, and makes your skin ugly...I'm also into quitting now.

well,, if u know it's bad and dangerous and u still dun wana quit then..... i'd suggest herbal cigarettes. They're made with menthol, marshmallow leaves, and other really good herbs. The first smoke isn't that good, but after a while you get used to it. I used them for a movie once, they're what non-smoking actors use in films where their character smokes. It's not as dangerous since it's not addictive, but it's still a carcinogen. You really can't escape that part. That's all i've got for u, becuz nicorette doesn't work. Btw, u do know that smoking makes u age faster, right? - my dad started smoking wen he was 11.. he looks disgusting and he's not even past 45 yet. So, herbal cigarretes.. or try chewing gum alot. that's all i got.. sry-

If you want to be a total moron and continue smoking then fine, go ahead, but there's nothing you can do to avoid the health affects of smoking other than quitting! Switching to light or ultra light cigarettes is not a way to reduce the harmful affects of smoking! They can be just as bad as full flavor cigarettes because smokers often "suck harder" on lights and ultra lights than they would on full flavor cigarettes, so there's no getting around that!

The bottom line is that if you don't want your health to be damaged, then quit. If you want to continue smoking then go ahead, but don't blame anyone but yourself for the harmful health affects that smoking will slowly but surely do to your body. Also, society is becoming more and more non-smoking, so prepare to shunned and banned from places more and more if you want to continue smoking!

I've never smoked, but I know quitting can be hard. I'm sure you can do it though! It's really the only intelligent thing to do, and you're intelligent, aren't you? I have a feeling that you're not an idiot!

Since you say you don't want to quit, your chances of sucessfully quitting are very low. Especially with the amount you smoke.

You just have to decide what you want to do, first. You can choose to quit smoking, but you need to decide you actually want to do so to succeed. If you choose not to quit, you can choose either to cut back (really, 2-3 packs per day is probably way too much) or you could even decide to keep smoking the way you are now, and accept the risks involved. Smoking does not kill 100% of smokers, after all, and 100% of non-smokers will die too. The only issue really is quality of life as you get older, and the increased risk of shortened lifespan and shortened quality of life.

i'd ask yourself why you started smoking in the first place.. was it cos somthing bad was happening in your life? i started smoking when i came out of an 18 month relationship when i just thought i didnt care about my health or my life or anything, i was really unhappy. I didn't know where i was going with it but i got addicted quite quickly. luckily i hung around with more friends that didnt smoke that did, so i always felt really bad when i stunk of smoke and had cigs in my bag.. and one day when my mum confronted me about my smoking i just thought to myself well in life there are so many illnesses you cant control, ones that happen for no reason, so why let yourself be prone to lung cancer etc, when you can avoid it? it would lead to being in soooo much pain and torment when youre older and like cant walk or live a normal life due to something YOU initiated yourself, you will get little pity and will be in it on your own.
So anyways, i would suggest looking at why you started and see if you can link an event to the time you started smoking. That might help, and also dont hang around with smokers, and think about the pain you mite be in when youre old! that was enough to put me off, and now when i see someone attractive and then i see theyre smoking i just get so turned off by them.. its not an attractive thing

If your thoughts are "not to quit", you have a decision to make. You already know that it is bad for your health, so we don't have to go through that part of the process.

You must decide which is better for you:
1- Looking "Cool" with that cigarette hanging out of your mouth.
2- Having healthy lungs after 10 years of "NOT" smoking.

Set a quit date.

Change your environment.
Get rid of ALL cigarettes and ashtrays in your home, car, and place of work.
Don't let people smoke around you.

Review your past attempts to quit. Think about what worked and what did not.

Once you quit, don't smoke—NOT EVEN A PUFF!
