Would use it to watch an occasional movie, tv tuner is not required, would be good if it has a connection for pc. Standard definition is ok, has to be below 800 dollars. Any help is appreciated

I personally will never go back to a TV after experiencing the immersive experience of movies and HDTV on a 100" screen via a projector. But they are not for everyone.

There are projectors available in your price range ... mainly so-called "business" projectors. All will accommodate a PC. None have tuners for TV (although a few have a built in DVD player). True home theatre -- optimized for movies -- projectors start at about $1000. See the link below for further information.

That said, there are some excellent used projectors on the market so you may be able to go that route ... although be aware that lamps eventually (3-4 years at 2-3 hr/day) wear out and can cost $400-$500 to replace, so take that into account. Also, while you can use a blank white wall or even a bed sheet, optimal pictures require a screen ... which can cost $200 - $2000.

Hope that helps.

those days, rather plenty any respectable projector is going to have distinctive formnats attainable. the element you prefer to seem for is LUMEN, LUMEN, LUMEN, Lumen is the length of sunshine output- the better the lumen the brighter the output. larger end variations can run interior the 5k lumen section (and function a cost tag that reflects that) yet i've got seen sturdy sign fromcheapo- hand held projectors with a hundred lumen output. the sunshine point of the room you would be making use of it in is a extensive attention to boot.
