There's this car, and the owner is selling it for 1000 dollars because it has some transmission problems but my father is offering to fix it if i do buy it. he's a mechanic. So it's all up to my liking. It's a 1997 mercedes c280. I don't know how many miles it has on it. But i'll get back to you on that. anyways.. good deal or no? I'm guessing the price is pretty good but I dont know much about cars. SOO thanks in advance!

If you can get that car for $1000 , and you can get the car fixed for free, Run, do not walk to the bank and get the money! That is one heck of a deal!!

Rough wholesale with 200,000 miles is $1000.

If you can afford to buy a newer Honda civic that would be good, but if you can't afford to make sure that the mercedes is checked thoroughly. You have no idea where that c280 has gone through. It could be a lemon (car was in a crash and repaired, repainted etc..) Carfax might help.
