Farsi is a dialect of the Persian language. The Arabic is a different, yet similar language of the Arab world; the Koran is written in Arabic and is said to be best learned in its native Arabic writing, so many Muslims also speak Arabic along with the language common to the part of the world an individual Muslim may live in.

It is Farsi, and is part of the Indo-European languages. Never tell a Persian he speaks a form of Arabic. It would not go over well.
