You take your meds (once you get a combo that works for you) and you come to terms with it. It isn't going to go away, but equally it isn't going to stop you living a life.

It took me a year to come to terms with it. I spent a long time holdiong my breath, waiting for the next disaster, but eventually I realised that this was all there was.

I have two friends that have it and one is 52 and the other is 31. They have dealt with it for along time. You take your medication like you are told to and try to stay away from negative people. Don't look at it as a handicap look at it as the thing that makes you different from most people. You can have a normal life if you follow what your Dr. say to do. Good Luck and God Bless.

You take your meds religiously, and seek professional counseling.

Approximately 1% of people have bipolar disorder -- or about 3,000,000 people in the US. You are not alone by any means; seek out others with the condition and ask them about their strategies.

MY DAUGHTER DIDN'T AND SHE BEGAN TO CUT HERSELF. I CAN'T MAKE HER DO THESE THINGS NOW BUT I KEEP PRAYING SHE WILL START BACK AGAIN. THIS IS A DANGEROUS CONDITION AND NOT TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY!!!
