Why in martial arts?
Being in love is definitely painful. That's how you know its the really thing. If its not reciprocated, then the feeling is among the worst that life has to give.
If that is what you mean by a double-edged sword, then yes. But the walk through the fire to reach your paradise is worth it.

No. I don't think True Love is. I am 34 and have been married. I thought I was sooo in love with my exhusband. We were together about 10 yrs and have 2 children together. I now know what Real Love is since I met my current other half. There is no double edge to it. While you take the good with the bad things that come your way what you have together shouldnt be one of them. If it is then its not real.
