I understand what you're saying, yet there are major ameliorations between Christian denominations, or those calling themselves Christian. As an Orthodox Christian, it is critical to me that i hit upon an Orthodox church to attend. As an Orthodox Christian, i do no longer have self belief or settle for most stuff taught in different Christian church homes, so why might want to i opt to be there. As for figuring out your denomination on Y/A, it provides a level of reference -- a foundation for evaluation. Our ameliorations exist. Ignoring them can no longer lead them to bypass away.

A boy was invited by his friend who lives next door to come and play with him in his house. The boy answered, No I cannot go and play with you because my Mom said you are of different abominations.
To me neither religion nor abomination or denomination will save anybody. Jesus is the only way by which a person can be saved.
Believe in Jesus and you shall be saved, says the Bible. It does not say believe in Religion or Denomination, and you will be saved.
Matthew 7:21-23 says “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
So it is more important to know what is the will of God in His book than to find what the different denominations or religions teach. After we know the will of God, we must decide to follow it regardless to what denominations or religions teach. If they do not teach according to the Word of God, we can not make the excuse by saying, Well, I'm sorry but that was what my religion or denomination taught me.

No denomination here. What denomination was Jesus? NONE! Religion is man-made and too many of them get all tangled up in their own biased interpretations, ceremonies and rituals... a total distraction and deflection from the simple Truth!
