The 16mm is a kind of wide angle with wide coverture with no compression of image; the anamorphic is a cylindrical lens that compresses the image in the negative, covering a wider area than the previous one, if you look at this images, you will notice they are elongated, like if some one stretches the negative from top to bottom; you will need another anamorphic lens to bring it to normal.

anamorphic, when you transfer or blow up, you lose some of the screen. super 16mm, wider by like 30 percent, no loss on blow up.or transfer
