Contrary to popular belief, alcohol is not good for a cold. It will make you feel worse. A lot of sleep and a lot of water are two of the the best remedies for a cold. Chicken soup can also be helpful.

Doctors say that drinking alcohol lowers your immune system but my grandfather and I'm sure a-lot of older people used to use whiskey for colds and if you think about it some of the cough syrups have alcohol in them ...So I would say in moderation wouldn't hurt you!(only if your old enough to drink)

It's probably not a good idea, but if you plan to, make sure it's something really potent, like straight Scotch, that's more likely to kill every micro-organism in site!
