The fact is, truth isn't something that can be measured out. Something either is, or it isn't. Is this religion true, or is it not true? Therein is a simple question - have you found the truth, or haven't you? Simply put, for those who find a religion they see as true, there simply isn't a need to consider the possibility of other religions being true.
When one finds the truth one seeks, when one is so completely satisfied with what one believes, why consider something else? -Especially- when what you believe and what you're being offered are mutually exclusive? It is an ill advised gamble with the very fate of your soul, and few would be wise and still take such a chance.
I have the truth, I feel 100% certain I am right, what I believe contradicts that what you believe, so why, WHY should I continue to search for something that I already know I have at the risk of losing that which so completely fulfils me?

Human beings are all men of faith, Memnock. Like it or not. You can't prove anything with absolute certainty. Our 5 senses have been proven to deceive us again and again.
A religous person could say the same thing about you- that your mind is closed. Try to focus on the good in people, and the things that you do have in common. You might find like I have that people will come to you for wisdom more often when you respect (but maybe not agree) with their beliefs. Diplomacy 101.

I don't close my mind, it just doesn't interest me, that's all. I never insist anyone is wrong in their beliefs, everyone is entitled to believe whatever they want. Its just when they on the religious right try to force their beliefs on me, that's when I get defensive. I was born Catholic, grew up and found my own answers. My life is much happier without God in it.

I guess it's just human nature to do that.
It's easier to see life from the perspective of our own experience.
It's also better to know life through your own experience.
If we choose to follow the path of another without having our own experience, we limit ourselves to the thoughts of others.
If we open our minds...we encourage further knowledge and we may have an opportunity to experience something more.

Judgement day will answer. Until then, practice what you preach, Love is Gods will, therefore religion is not Gods will. Jesus taught, Love one another, not be of this or that religion.

Yea, so? What if? And why ask why? Shed your pasty thin skin and grow a thicker one. In the world of ideas and personal opinions, you need thick skin.

Asking the question you just asked, phrased that way shows your mind is as open as a government office on a holiday.
