I have developed feelings for a close friend of mine. I know that he has a history of commitment problems (he was the one who broke up with all of his exs) and a tendency to date low-quality women. We have a lot in common (in terms of interests and education level) and I understand him well. How can I get him to see me in a new light and to forget those other women?

"ALL his exes"! "Dates low-quality women"! He seems to KNOW what he wants and I doubt you will change him. It is always a mistake to enter into a relationship with the intention of changing the other person! Enjoy your mutual interests, and IF he changes, he will either see you as a romantic possibility or not. Think about his patterns and if you truly want to become part of that.

You don't have to be different. You just have to wait and give him time to forget those girls. Show your love in a friendly way first and time will come that you'll be able to show it to him in a romantic way...look into the styles and attitudes of his past girlfriends and try to avoid them. But some boys want those aggressive types. Be showy if he's like that. good luck friend...!

You said that he dates low quality women, do you consider yourself "low quality ?", cause if that's what he's into , then that's what he likes. Wether you think it is right for him or not , Don't confuse your idea of who he should be ...with the reality of who he is. When men like you they'll let you know.
