It all depends on how you choose to view it. To me, it means he created us as mankind the way HE wanted it to be alone. basically, we were made in HIS image=HE imaged us to be how he wanted to be. Like if you were to paint a picture out of your own image. It will turn out how you wanted it to be. And no other. It is your painting. But it all depends on how one chooses to view it. Or it can mean that HE wanted you to be like HIM. As jesus said, "be perfect like your father that is in heaven". Though I do not believe in the christian faith, I did read the bible. PEACE!

God is a spirit , a powerful energy source, manifest in many ways , starting with let there be light electro magnetic xxxxx quantum??states. Man see the benefits and furies, and gives shapes and sizes and colors to the concept of God. A pig could think it was made in Gods image and Man even so, and both cld be correct??? Even the molecules, atoms, electrons and all particles inside them are living,if we know what is life, why is life, who is life. So the man who wrote man was made in gods image must have had his own concept of god. just bear with him and all his followers.

We are made to be like God. That is not the same as being God. We have Him image imprinted within us. We have not fulfilled our true potential. There is great potential in the power of the human mind and in the potential to Love and be a Peace-filled person. If we all worked on finding truth within us and growing more and more into that we would be growing to be more like God. And IMO, as long as you are doing that it does not matter what religion you practice. The paths are many, the destination is one.

If god and Jesus are the same person then wouldn't it be true that we look like him because he has a body? He was resurrected, and if he was resurrected and ascended to heaven, then he either would have had to shed his skin when he got to heaven or keep it. But I have never quite believed in the 3 in 1 thing. That doesn't make any sense to me.

It means that the reality behind the word, "God" is All That Is; thus, It can only create through Itself. This means we are part of God, but have the capability to form images and think them real. We also are capable of creation...we are one with God.

It means that as a physical being that we were made "perfect in the eyes of GOD"

we as man have failed GOD as being that "perfect" image since the first sin which was disobedience, so we are no longer "perfect", but as a newborn christian, we do have the chance to atone or be forgiven of all of our imperfections as man.

spirit

we are created from his spirit

I know some that truly believe that God is just a powerful alien that when the return happens it will be an alien space ship. hence descending from the clouds.

but I truly believe that we are created in the image of the great spirit.

That would depend on which religion and person you ask. To me that refers to the inner person, that part that does not die, the soul, the spirit.
