I cheated on my girlfriend within six months. Got "Jill" pregnant After the whole drunken random one-nigher fiasco and the ensuing abortion, I cut all ties with the chick. Felt like the dirtiest piece of shat afterwords and vowed that was the first and last time. Last nite I get a text message that is signed "Jill". While trying to figure out who the hell Jill was, she replied "Jill from January. (2006) U got me preggo." Girlfriend was reading over my shoulder. BUSTED. She says she hates me, which she should have the right to. Says she doesn't trust me, also understandable. I thought that by hiding it and just learning my lesson was the right thing to do, but it came back to get me. Should I have confessed right away or tried to hide it. Girlfriend thinks we banged more than once and wants Jill's number. I deleted the texts and she isn't in my contact list. How do I prove that I'm sorry and I can be trusted? Our relationship was fantastic up to this point, and I regret my stupidity.

It is not up to you as much, it is up to her whether or not she'll forgive you. Just be the best yourself you can be, show all your love, be honest, look into her eyes. It doesn't matter too much if she found out right away or she found out later, it hurts like hell all the same. Give it time. She migh or might not get over it. If she doesn't - better leave.

Sorry to hear that man, sounds like you really crapped in the oatmeal. Hindsight is always 20/20. If I've learned anything from being married, be honest and upfront with whoever you're with. Even if you f up, if you come foward and admit to what you did she will no doubt be angry as hell, but as least you told her and got it out of the way so it doesn't bubble into something bigger later. Trust me, I wish I would have just come clean with everything I did and my wife wouldn't have gotten as mad. Instead I covered it up with more and more lies and made the situation worse a year later when she found out.
As far as gaining her trust back, you just have to keep plugging away. Try and be as squeaky clean as you can and let her know what you're doing, even if it's just hanging out with the guys, tell her what's going on. The more informed you keep her about your life, the less she will worry that an incident like that will happen again. By her some flowers or show her in some embarrasing way in public how much you care about her. Her seeing you make an *** out of yourself makes will make her feel better because of the trouble you went through to prove you point.
Good luck!

I went through a similiar thing, you me we should have confessed right away, luckily the gf I had loves me then the world itself but its going to take awhile for her to trust you and you will have to ask her how to earn her trust back, but you have to explain your feelings how you felt, and how you feel now, and just talk and work on things, hopefully after some hard work and time you may both get past it, and unfortunately you may not sometimes you have to deal with the consequences we make

Give it time. But if she's going to punish you forever for a horrible mistake, she should get a job at your local jail. I really don't see how this pertains to her, or why she considers it her "right" to get upset if you weren't exclusive during those first 6 months.
If she can't get over it, or uses it as a weapon to manipulate you, end it.
