My husband is a nice guy. He gets love, admiration, respect, affection, home-cooked meals every night.. and some other perks.
(I just told him he's nice and he smiled at me.)

I think that I am a nice guy. I am however selfish.1) When I help someone it makes me feel good. Therefore I get something out of it.2) I'm never let down because I have done all that I can to be the best friend that I can be. 3) I come out on top because chicks dig a genuinely nice guy. 4) The point is just what it is being nice, it's a lost art in this crazy world.

Alright, here it goes:
1. In the end, it's the nice guys that the SMART girls end up with. What smart girl is going to commit herself to a jerk for life? No, you probably won't end up with any of the hot, ditsy bimbos, but if you're a nice guy then you're probably not going to want that type of woman anyway.
2. A scientific study was done that showed that nice people who cared for and took care of other people lived longer, healthier lives than those who didn't: http://www.sciencenewsforkids.org/articles/20030730/Note2.asp
3. Being a nice, genuine person will come in handy when the day comes (and it will come) that someone accuses you of lying or stealing or whatever. You may not be a hot, bad-boy babe-magnet but you will definitely be the one that people will believe when a question about your integrity comes to the forefront.
4. What's the point in Being a nice guy?
- Smart, loving women are likely to choose you for the long haul.
- You're likely to live a longer life than people who are more selfish.
- When your integrity is questioned, you will have nothing to prove because the way you've lived your life is proof enough!
NICE GUYS ROCK!!!!

2. People depend on nice guys, because they are strong. It's impossible to go through life and not be let down once in a while.
3. Nice guys always do well no matter what.
4. A nice guy is a great thing to be no matter what.

Well alot in the long run... the nice guy seems to come out on the bottom but with time they always end up on top..because the girls that chase after the pretty boy learn they are jerks and finally want the good guy.... the good guy usually ends up getting an education.. nice home.. car.. and a great job... then he can look back and say hey you could have had this with me.. tell your friend not to worry things will work out

I bet you I can answer this. "Nice Guys" can also be described as "People Pleasers"
1) The pay-off for the nice guy is he/she is protecting him/herself from rejection, scorn, disapproval, criticism, or dislike.
2) What does the nice guy get out of it, is the same question as what's in it for him/her, so see answer # 1.
3) In the nice guys mind he/she ALWAYS comes out on top, or he/she wouldn't keep playing the role of the nice guy.
4) Again the point of being a nice guy is for social acceptance, and/or approval.
Have your friend visit this website & see if there is anything there he/she can relate to on a personal level.

Cheers!

Nice guys don't look for a purpose to do what they do, it just comes natural to them. Helping others makes them feel good about themselves even if others let them dowm, Nice guys come out on top because what they do they do it with the right intentions, the point of being a nice guy is so that your principles and values are actepted to yourself.

Being a nice guy is it's own reward. Deep down no one wants to be friends with a jerk. We like to know we have someone around we can depend on..Even if we don;t always acknowledge them.
As for why be a nice guy...Because it;s the Right thing to do.When you do nice things, good things come back to you. It may not be today or tomorrow, but they do come.
You have to take some self satisfaction in your life, If you wait for others to give you that pat on the back,it may never come.

Well it all depends on how you look at it, if he is being kinda depressed there is more to it then him just not finishing first. Yes nice guys tend to finish last, but really they dont, they get a lot of nice friends they are always nice to people, and people always look towad them for support, think about it everyone should be that special, but everyone isnt, They need to be reminded that they are special tho, but they always have the self confidence to be that nice guy, they have to realize what they are doing and realize that everyone isnt as nice

nothing; sad and depressed; never; you feel like its what you have to do.
I'm a nice guy, a shy guy. I get **** on all day. I haven't gotten laid in three years, and the future isn't looking good either. The nice guy, me and your friend, are screwed. I cant even make the first move with this girl I really like because I'm scared of being creepy/ scared of rejection...
