i gave some one a gift but forgot to grab the receipt out of the bag, im not sure if the entire card numbers on it

Most places do NOT do this any longer. It became illegal in July 2006 I believe for any more than the last 4 digits to be printed on a receipt.

Most places no longer place the entire number on your receipt, it really depends upon the state. When I worked in IL they state passed a law saying it wasillegal and all machines had to be updated so only the last 4 digits was shown.
Some smaller stores, like private businesses, may be using outdated software. You may want to call the store and find out what their policy is. Chances are they will not show the entire #.

Most places would only have the last 4 digits of your card on your version of the receipt. They might print the entire card number on their copy.

because of the new laws most companies do not print out the credit card number on the reciept
