I will be flying out of miami to cleveland on christmas night. has anybody ever flown on christmas day? Are the airports packed? I know that Christmas eve is busy at airports, but what about christmas day? Thanks

It is probably the very best travel day to travel on in the holiday season. Good fares too.
People will be in very good spirits on the plane.
Hey, people have to be somewhere on a Christmas so why not a plane.
Make a trip to Starbucks on the way home to cheer you. God Bless

Christmas Day 25th December 2004 10.25am flight.
There were a quite a number of people flying that day, but it wasn't absolutley heaving. Very calm and quiet.
A few bookstores and pharmacists might be open, the airport's main restaurant will most likely to be open but don't expect quality food. The best they'll give you is cold sandwiches and a choice of beverages.

I flew on Christmas in 2004 and it was not busy at the airport. On the plane, there was plenty of empty seats, so I got myself an extra seat for comfort.

I flew on Christmas day in the early 70's, If I remember correctly the airport was quite empty,

I'm returning from NYC to Dallas on Christmas Day and expect that it'll be quiet because most people will be with their loved ones for the winter holidays.
