Weight loss after pregnancy can be slow and many new moms find it difficult to stick to a diet after having a baby. Babies do not understand your desire to lose weight and regain your figure! So regular meals can be difficult!

However, please avoid the temptation to fast or 'starve' yourself into regaining your pre-pregnancy shape. Hollywood celebrities may be able to do this, but you can't. Your body needs plenty of nutrient-dense foods.

Stock up with healthy, filling, convenient snacks, like soups, low-fat pasta sauces, lean meats for sandwiches, wholemeal bread and cereals, fresh and frozen vegetables and fat-free dairy products.
Share the preparation of food with your partner.
Try not to be tempted by empty-calorie-foods like ice-cream, popcorn and other highly processed snacks.
Talk to your doctor about a gentle return to physical exercise.
Do not fret about weight loss or regaining your figure. If you focus on eating healthily, your body will respond by losing any excess weight.
I have several new mothers coming to see me and nearly all are back to their original weight. Being a mother is no reason to stay fat. It's just another excuse for doing nothing.

That kind of diet may help you lose WATER weight, but not fat weight. I'm assuming you want something that will last and not just a quick fix without phony diet pills or fat burners.

The problem is you're starting off your day right with protein (2 eggs) and carbs (toast, whole wheat is best), but then you're only having simple carbs for the rest of the day. That will eventually make you irritable and create the false illusion of lost weight. It's better to have six small meals throughout the day, drink a lot of water and get some form of exercise. Yes, I know you're a new mom and that can be easier said than done. It doesn't have to be five miles on the treadmill or an hour of Tae-Bo, just a brisk walk for 20-30 minutes a few times a week. Hey, you can even bring the 4-month old along in the harness for that one!

The worst thing you can do to yourself is put yourself in starvation mode. You can only go so far in tricking the body and brain; they both know when deprivation is in effect. All it will do is lead to hunger pangs and a possible binge, trust me, I've been there. If all of your meals consist of the same balance of protein, carbs and good fats as your breakfast, then you will eventually lose the pounds. I dropped about 15 stubborn pounds in 2 months doing just that, but it takes effort and consistency. Good luck!

I will try to keep it simple. Your metabolism is basically the rate at which your body burns calories to create energy. So the faster your metabolism, the faster you burn calories and the easier it is to lose unwanted weight. To boost your metabolism naturally you just need to eat the right foods.

You can sit down and literally eat a 1,000-calorie dinner and yet be absolutely starving just a few hours later and the reason is simple: Because your body didnt get what it needed in those 1,000 calories so it sends signals to your brain telling you to ingest more calories and thus, the late-night cravings. That means that the surest way to end those late-night cravings and keep your weight loss goals on track is to eat a more balanced, nutritious diet that actually gives your body what it needs.

It's VERY EASY to lose weight if you eat the right foods. Check out Dr. Charles Livingston's video here: http://www.sexyjese.com - it will blow your mind.

Eat six small meals a day. Plus exercise. That will help you lose weight. To much fruit can cause diarrhea.

If you are breastfeeding, I would suggest highly against it as you will feel drained. Also if you are breastfeeding, everythign you eat your baby will eat so you need to make sure you have you calcium, protiens, ect.
