My girlfriend and I broke up because of this.
She was yelling at me, and I called her a *****. She came and kicked me in the balls and scratched my eye so badly I couldn't see for 6 weeks out if it. I hit her in the face.
Not only did we break, we BOTH had to serve jail sentences for assault/domestic violence, since my neighbors called the police when they heard the screaming. The police will ticket both parties.
I also had to pay over $300 in court fines, plus lose my job while sitting in jail for 90 days.
I also did not get into the Master's Degree program that I wanted because they saw the assault charge on my record.
If you are in that situation, you need to do one of two things:
1--- Get anger therapy to help you control yourself. I did it and
my life is so much better now.
2--- Get OUT of the relationship, or at LEAST take a break to
reconsider things.

You should never really hit anybody unless it is in self defense. If you are having thoughts of hitting your girlfriend, you [both] should see a counselor so that you can mediate your differences. You should never, ever physically or mentally abuse the one you are supposed to love. If you are a battered man (this happens, but it is highly unreported) who is a target of physical abuse from your girlfriend, get away from her and report the abuse. Anyone convicted of domestic spousal or partner abuse will lose their right to possess and carry firearms....for life (as the law is written right now). Seek counseling before thoughts turn into reality.

Itis never ok to hit.
Love does NOT want to hurt...
It sounds like you would probably be better off out of the relationship if this is something that you feel like doing.
Also consider talking to someone about what you feel.
Please don't hit the damage it does to one's soul is horrible and stays with that person for a lifetime.

You know better! It sounds like you need anger management. I hope that if you choose to hit her she is smart enough to leave you. I stayed with a man that hit me. He permanently damaged my brain and I cannot even hold a job down now. Love is not supposed to hurt. Anger is no excuse. Would you want some guy hitting your mother, sister, or daughter?

its perfectly understandable for you and other people to want to resort to violence- no matter how minimul it is. But the fact is, [[i know youve heared this a dozen times]] violence will never solve anything. Its good, though, that you aren't justifying it and saying that it is okay. It's good that you asked. Just remeber, you can get arrested for that, and getting in trouble with the law is never fun! It's never okay to physically cause someone pain, it's just not right. Plus, you'll feel guilty afterwards anyways [[i know]]. take care.

IT IS NEVER NEVER NEVER ok to hit a woman. If you feel like hitting your girlfriend at times then you either need to find a new girlfriend or get some counseling to help this desire to hit women.

Don't, you can go to jail. My dad got arrested just for taking the phone out of my mother's hand.
For some reason, the people who beat women always seem to get a worse punishment than someone who beats a child.

battery is against the law. So therefore, it is never right to hit her, or for her to hit you...you take the chance of going to jail...Of course you can be driven to want to take a swing...some people have that effect on you...but just get up, and leave...take a walk..and don't do anything illegal like that...

The answer is never. It's never OK to hit a woman. The fact that you asked that question tells me you know it's never OK. Listen to your heart, just so no.

For self defense is the only right time to hit a woman. If you can't hold her down and get help and you are in bodily harm then it is totally fine to defend yourself. In your case, I think you need counseling to manage your inner rage/anger.
