What are the punishment for illegal immigrating into a country for countries? I'd like to compare them with the punishment they give in the united states.

illegal immigrants in any country will ultimately be deported back to their country of nationality which is the most common immigration law in most countries. But illegal immigrants who have stayed without the knowledge of authorities for a long time (5 years or more) can then seek legal procedures to become permanent residents in the settled country. Also those illegal immigrants who apply for asylum claiming life threat upon return to country of nationality are given protection and would remain as asylum seekers till their case is being handled by the authorities. Once the decision is taken on their life threat claim, they may or may not receive permanent residentship in the settled country.

I think the punishment for illegal immigration should be a quick trip home. Just send em home, it's the best way to deal with it.

The U.S. is a slap on the hand............actually just a small flick to the palm compared to other countries. We do not enforce immigration laws here, others do, thats the bottom line and its very problematic.

They should be given a jail term and then deported as soon as they are released.
