I bought Insignia 27 inch LCD for 499+Tax and going to get 59 dollars 4-yr plan. Its a bargain. I heard these Insignia LCDs are either manufactured by Toshiba or Funai (same as Symphonic/Emerson/Sylvania brands).

Come on... did you see "Armagaddon"... That russian cosmonaut says "Russian or American spaceships, no difference, everything is made in "China". Thats the way of life now. Whatever brand you buy, they are built by either Wang or Zhang.

The TV is very easy to set up and only 30 pounds. Some of my channels are not very crisp (even on my previous flat panel CRT) but most of the channels are very clear and great.
Over all rating 7.5 out of 10.
Picture quality 7 out of 10
Sound, 6 out of 10 - but I connected to surround sound home theatre, so no complaints.
I recommend it if you take the 4yr protection plan, just 20 bucks per year for extra security.
Worth the price.

Just don't even think about it. Insigna, Magnavox , Sylvania, Curtis, Phillips,...usually does not make good tv--especially hdtv. You're better off with a Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, Hitachi, Toshiba or any reputable manufacturer.
