I had a pretty nice SUV. I loved it because i had to drive back and forth from Iowa to ohio at least twice a mnth. than the gas prices went up. so i sold it. i was going to get a real nice car, but had student loans to pay off. So with what i made on the sale i was able to pay off a huge hunk of the loans and than i bought a dodge neon. The neon looked and drove really great. that is until i drove it yesterday in the snow. the car went all ways excpet straight. I am now looking into a newer car suv(not a big one though). One that will have pretty good trac and control and is not a gas hog. any ideas?

I think you have a very good car in a neon. what you need is a good set of tires to go along with that good little car. I would highly recomend the Brigestone Blizzack , or the Michelin Arctic Alpen. The big SUV you used to have had allot of gas guzzling weight to hold it down in the snow , so all season tires would work. The lightweight gas saving neon needs teeth to bite into the road. Thats where the good snow & ice radials come in.Your neon will feel like a go kart hugging the road.

How about a Ford Escape that's a couple of years old? Of course there's the Hybrid version, but that might be over your budget.

Why not a hybrid Ford Escape, or something in the size group?
