Well, try looking for fast-food or retail jobs (especially as it is Christmas season), that is one way to earn money. Are you seen as a responsible young person by other adults, how are your grades in school? Perhaps you can earn money babysitting younger children, or offering tutoring to younger children.

Also, you can help elderly or home-bound people run errands, straighten their homes a bit, or even just keep them company and perhaps read them the paper if they have diminished vision.

Have you spoken to your parents about a raise in allowance? Or you could work out an incentive deal with them: If you achieve certain grades/G.P.A., keep out of trouble, help around the house etc., perhaps they can fund or contribute to your trip to New York.

Good Luck, keep in mind that New York City is expensive (especially for food and lodging), it will be a major part of your budget.

Instead of taking your frineds with your money, why don't you tell your friends to all pitch in. You won't have to earn a lot if all all your friends contribute an equal amount of share.

And talk to a travel agent now who can arrange special deals. The sooner you arrange your plan, the cheaper it gets.

NY is the best city in the world. Enjoy yourself.
