Here we go again.
No, America is the MELTING POT of the world, so to speak. There are people of every different nationality here.
Our ancestors all immigrated from somewhere, recently enough even, that we know from where. After a few more hundred years, that may not be the case.
The problem comes when they are illegal aliens rather than law abiding immigrants.

There is no problem with immigrants bettering their lives. There is however, a problem with immigrants coming into the U.S. illegally, not taking the time to become a citizen or obtain a visa, and living off the government when there are thousands of Americans who need help but cannot get it because they're not immigrants.

There is no problem in my opinion that immigrants want to improve their lives in any country. It always makes me angry when people in England for example have a problem with immigrants, when in fact, more English people immigrate from England to other countries to work and live than immigrants go into England to do the same. People usually complaint about immigrants taking jobs from local folks, but the jobs immigrant are willing to do are not very popular anyway. Not many people are willing to clean houses or work in sweatshops and construction work. In my opinion, the west owes people from underdeveloped countries as they took advantage of them and their countries for centuries.

If I was an imigrant I would expect the government to treat me slightly differently than the other people that were already there.
No don't get me wrong here, I love the fact that people can come here to better there lives, I really do. The problem I see are the ones that are making it harder on people like myself & come here Illegally. Those people are comming here to destroy America. The people that take the time to come here Legaly are being sterio-typed because of the ones that aren't here to make America a better place.
We all need to stand together & tell the government that they need to get the Illegals out or we will.

They came here ILLEGALLY. Then fly the flags of their former country EVERYWHERE. And then everyone needs to accommodate them not learning ENGLISH.
First off, how can the government ignore one law and enforce the other? All laws should be treated equally.
Second, my parents came here legally. It's a lot of paper work and it cost a lot. They even have caps on the amount that can come it. This is to prevent huge influxes and change the demographics too fast. Now don't go well the border crossed us reasoning, that was at least 100 years ago. Don't pity them, they're criminals and should be locked up and/or deported.

Of course they would do the same. The people complaining about immigrants are the great grandsons and daughters of people complaining about the end to slavery. It takes parents that are losers to teach their children to blame others for their problems. It takes a hypocrite and a blasphemer to call themselves Christian and at the same time hate people for trying to feed their families.

nothing wrong with them trying to better their lives, just do it LEGALLY! You like your taxes going up to cover their public assistance? higher hospital bills to cover their free health care? and just who's social security number are they using to get a job? And the thing that really burns me up.....in state tuition for illegals?!?!?! Whats wrong with that picture? They can get in state college tuition rates, but did you know that a serviceman that has fought for this country has to pay out of state tuition if they choose to go to college away from their home of record? The way I see it, if a serviceman fought for the U.S., he/she should be able to go to any school in the U.S. and just pay the in state tuition.
But back to the illegal topic, did you know its a proven statistic that illegals are responsibile for the death of 25 Americans per day via crime/DUIs, etc? Hmmmm, thats alot more than the number of G.I.s that have been killed in the war on terror. So why isn't the evening news screaming about this?

Yes, Garfield has it right.
Especially the "get a goddamn life" part.
But that's good. Thousands of peopel visit this board every day, and we are finally able to make the disctinction that it's not about hate and race, but laws and consequences.
So, I continue to thank you for bringing the subject up.

A lot of the posters are against people from Mexico and Central America coming across the border illegally. They say that they should do so legally. I agree; however, the number of visas available for Mexicans annually is virtually niMF There is no other way.
