Hi Lachelle...considering using an inexpensive wire loom (example: http://cableorganizer.com/wire-loom/split-wire-loom.html) to bundle the wires together which the kittens will be unable to chew. Not only will the protect the kitten from dangerous electrical wires, but also tidy up your workspace as well. For wires which cannot be bundled consider using Grannick's Bitter Apple for pets which is found worldwide at most pet stores: http://www.grannicks.com/

Well what you should do is go to your local Hardware store and look for any type of tubeing like a PVC pipe or actually any type of plastic or rubber tubing of some kind just kind of look around for those kinds of things and take it home and run the wires through the tube and cut accordingly and just cover as much as you can, cuz it can be a serious hazard i had recently cared for kittens and it can serious shock and also get something else across the room to play with that's like rope and toys

18 cats? Good lord. Anyway, to the original poster: Cats and kittens LOVE playing with strings and other "cord-like" things, so of course he is going for the cords under your desk. Try buying a small cat tree/house for Tobey and tie some small rope hanging off of it. He will love it! Good luck. :)

try and secure the wires into a big bundle with tape or zip ties and give Tobey something else to play with.

Tape the wires up with electrical tape. When you see him go towards them, distract him with a toy or a kitty treat. You can try the spray bottle, but I've always felt that just makes cats distrust you. Good luck!

well, kittens are actually very playful and curious. try to keep him away from the wires-this is the best solution. however, if he's always in that room, try taping the wires in one big bundle, so he can't get to them,. hope this helps!

The best way is to cover them with something. Even if it's a blanket of a piece of cardboard. I have 18 cats so I know how to prevent kitty disasters.

My sister had the same problem. She mixed Tobasco sauce and Louisiana Hot sauce and painted the wires. When they chewed, they got it in their mouth. She withheld their drinking water a few minutes while they got the message.
