how do i know if he would like me?

I have liked this guy for a long time now and we used to be like almost best friends. and when school started he ended up in my french class with me and we talk a little but he still is a little shy around me. +i have known him sence i was in 5th grade now i and in 9th grade.

and he talks to me a lot across the classroom and smiles at me ...sometimes he just happens to be looking at me and i see him do that but he doesn't know that.

i had this same situation from 8th grade to 10th except it was the other way around. The guy who was my best friend liked me and neither I had no idea that he was interested in anything more. It just came to the point where we hung out a lot and talked. I used to stay the night at his house and he would stay at mine. It really came down to our mutal friend telling the both of us that they saw something between us. I would say be as good of a friend as you can be with him. Let him see you for you and don't try to be fake. Maybe once you are very good friends again you can bring up topics that may lead into a little more information to let you know if he is interested. I would say give it time and if you start to feel really comfortable with him just tell him that you feel very attracted to him because of how much you two get along and ask him out to eat and let it grow from there.
