Group prayer is powerful when all pray together united in spirit and guided by the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who teaches us how to pray and make utterances through us - Rom 8:26. The Holy Spirit guides us to pray in accordance with God's will and what we pray in God's will surely be answered. Also when two or three agreed on anything it will be done for them. Also in prayer, one can chase 1,000, two can chase 10,000, three ? and so on. Corporate prayer always has more power and authority than praying as an individual.

Prayers do not have any power behind them. They are just wishes. They are never answered, as there is no one there to answer them (god is imaginary).
So, prayer nights or group praying is a total waste of time. The group should be doing something useful, like feeding hungry children.

i think the only thing it does is cement a stronger bond between the people there. and if the prayer session is for a not so good thing, like praying to close abortion clinics, or prayer to harm homosexualy it tends to make the radicals among the group more readily act on the thoughts.

Praying releases dopamine in your brain. That is a scientific fact. Its an addiction just like drugs.
